Three quarters of resumes never reach a human recruiter — they get rejected by applicant tracking systems first. Every 200+ Hizix template is pre-tested against the four largest ATS platforms. Build your resume free, get the ATS-safe formatting automatically.
If your resume does any of these, an ATS parser will fail on it — and most ATS will reject it silently.
ATS parsers read cell-by-cell. Tables scramble the order of your content. Workday and iCIMS specifically struggle with multi-column tables.
If your contact info, name, or job titles are inside an image (logos, infographics), the ATS cannot read them. They become invisible.
Custom fonts from Adobe Fonts or Google Fonts that are not embedded in the PDF get substituted — sometimes with unreadable glyphs.
Contact info in document headers gets stripped by most ATS. Put your phone number and email in the main body, top of page.
ATS looks for "Experience", "Education", "Skills". Calling them "My Journey" or "Where I've Been" means the parser misclassifies the content.
Two-column resumes look beautiful but ATS reads top-to-bottom, left-to-right — turning a clean design into jumbled text.
Decorative icons next to section headings or contact info often parse as garbled Unicode. Best avoided in the resume body.
Every template is built with ATS-safe defaults: single-column body, standard fonts, no tables, plain section names. Pick one, get it right by default.
